Salt water, pool water, sand and sunscreen are part of a normal week on Key Biscayne. If you want color that keeps up, the choice on our manicure menu usually comes down to three finishes: gel, dip or structured. Every manicure at Neo Nail Bar, 905 Crandon Blvd, includes shaping, cuticle care and a hand massage.
The three options
- UV gel manicure, $43. Gel polish cured under a lamp. Choose it if you like a thinner, glossy finish and are happy to sit under the lamp.
- Dipping powder manicure, $54. Powder layers built on your natural nail, with no UV lamp. Choose it if you want a firmer coat than regular polish.
- Structured manicure, $59. Ask about it, or the rubber base UV manicure ($53), if your own nails are thin or bend.
The full side-by-side on dip is in dip powder nails on Key Biscayne. If you change color often, the Essie Gel Couture manicure is $29 and a regular manicure is $24.
How to pick for your week
- You like a thin, glossy finish: UV gel is the familiar choice.
- You want a firmer coat and no lamp: dip, built on your natural nail.
- Nails that bend, peel or break: structured or rubber base adds strength on your own length.
- Want length: that is on the extensions menu, next to Gel-X on Key Biscayne.
Not sure? Tell the technician how long you want the set to last and what your week looks like.
Simple care between beach days
- Rinse your hands with fresh water after the ocean or the pool, and dry them.
- Keep cuticles moisturized.
- Do not use your nails to open sunscreen caps or cans.
- Do not pick or peel a set. If a nail lifts, come in rather than pulling it off.
No finish on our menu is promised a set number of weeks. Wear depends on your nails, the finish and aftercare.
Switching finishes
Removal is its own line on the extras menu. Removing UV gel polish is $5 with a service or $10 on its own. Removing dipping powder is $10 with a new service or $20 on its own. Mention a switch when you book so the chair has time for the removal first.
Doing feet too
For sandals, a regular pedicure is $41 and the Neo Spa pedicure is $58. A regular mani and pedi together is $63, and a UV gel mani with a regular pedi is $84. What each pedicure includes is in spa pedicure in Key Biscayne.
